Mike has worked in the Fire Service for 30 years, 10 of which have been in Fire Safety, over 5 of which have been managing a Fire Safety Team responsible for a third of the County. He has provided Health and Fire Safety Services to large Clients at events such as; Hard Rock Calling, Wireless Festival, Download Festival and on behalf of the Fire Service at V-Festival. He is the Health and Fire Safety Manager for the Great Dorset Steam Fair which, at peak occupancy, becomes the third largest Town (by density) in the County.

Mick represented the County, with regards to Fire Safety, at the Chief Fire Officers Association Working Group on Outdoor Events, contributing to developing best practice at a national level. Part of his role as Station Manager meant that he was responsible for Health and Safety at five Fire Stations, producing risk assessments, conducting health and safety audits and action plans. He also spent over five years as a Fire Service Commercial Training Manager, developing and delivering courses to businesses across the County.

He is a full Member of The Institution of Fire Engineers, a full Member of The Institute of Fire Safety Managers, a Specialist Member of The International Institute of Risk & Safety Management and maintains his Continuing Professional Development accordingly. He has experience of Fire Safety, Operational Fire-Fighting and Incident Command at Tactical Level.
